Wrapping Up 2010

It’s not all that hard to write the last newsletter of the year - I always start by saying, “Thank you for your support and the trust you placed in the Tuscano Agency in 2010.” Honestly, it was a decent year for us – if you define decent as better than most and not as bad as it could have been! More importantly, I hope your year was as good as it could be in a market like this. Hopefully, you will be able to look back on 2010 and say Tuscano did a good job fulfilling your needs and building stronger relationships with you. And there you have it – our strategic plan for 2011.

We also have a few projects in the works that I think are going to be huge time savers for you. Remember how 10 years ago we were all amazed at the power of the internet and a little suspicious of email? Well, I have to admit that my position has changed and we are ready to embrace the future of policy delivery.

Beginning the first of the year, Tuscano is going to a 100% email policy delivery service with the option for you to print the insured copy in our office.

Our new Print on Demand service will be accessed through a link in the body of the email, which will take you to a special print services web page. You will have the option to print the paper policy or burn the policy to a CD. The documents will be sent to the printer (or CD burner) in Tuscano’s office and we will assemble the documents and mail them to you within 5 – 7 days.

Many producers are already dealing with policies that are emailed from their carriers; however, Tuscano’s print on demand service is better. We will do the printing or burn the CD for you to distribute. We are making this an elective process so no one has to receive paper they do not want or will end up shredding; neither will any producer have to incur the cost to print a policy if they don’t want to.

I am guessing that not much will change in the insurance marketplace in the next 12 months. That means we have to be even better at what we do to win an account. Tuscano has what is takes - tenacious underwriters, smart aggressive carriers, and world-class agents! So the next time you have an account on your desk and you know it has to be brokered, I challenge you to give us a shot. Our promise in return is that if we can’t handle it we will tell you early on. Do you have an energy risk? Send it in! Got a trucker for hire? Call us! Need help writing a home inspector? Tuscano CAN do it!

We have made it through the first decade of the 21st century. 100 years from now our grandchildren will be doing amazing things. Let’s not let them down – let’s embrace the future and the future of our business. (And by the way, I think it’s safe to get rid of your Y2K canned goods stockpile).
