Roofers, roofers - anyone need to insure some roofers?
How is that for hawking some business? There are going to be some roofing contractors out there who are looking for insurance coverage in the next several months because we know of at least one standard market that is pulling out of the class. We have E&S markets that offer comparable coverage terms and pricing – a true benefit when you are remarketing. Certainly this is one line of business that Tuscano does very well with and loves to write. Who should you call to get details? Our Small Business Unit, that’s who!

Just when we thought spring was around the corner, Mother Nature pulls the rug out from under us! Well no worries – the best part of this last bit of nasty weather is it forces us to stay inside and get our spring cleaning done. May I also suggest that you spring clean your E&S business as well? Why not send us some of your renewals from those ‘other’ brokers who really aren’t doing anything to earn your business? Send us a copy of the renewal app or quote and we’ll work our darndest to win your business.

It was only one year ago that we launched our professional liability division under the brand TuscanoPro. Since that time we have been working hard to get the word out that Tuscano is more than just competent at writing professional liability business, we are Pros at it! If you have not visited the TuscanoPro website, you really should. There is a wealth of information about the products we write: A&E, Medical Professions, Lawyers, Media, Title Agents, Environmental Consultants & Contractors - to name just a few. These are not the run-of-the-mill exposures, so when you do have an account that needs expert insurance advice, we can help you fill that role. Add to that the fact that you are dealing with a brokerage office staffed with friendly and helpful folks who are committed to making the whole process of placing business as easy as possible.

You may have heard that last week a tornado passed through Greensburg, PA where our office is located. There were several homes and businesses damaged or destroyed and a section of roof blown from an area high school, but thankfully no injuries. Thanks to all who reached out to check on us. As insurance professionals, we are charged with being ‘good neighbors’ which is a principle that was established long before insurance came along. This experience made me feel that I had been remiss in failing to send out my thoughts and prayers for the people of Japan in my last newsletter. I can’t even imagine what it must be like to go through a tragedy of that magnitude. They say that the Japanese culture makes its people resilient and stoic, yet to have suffered such a terrible loss is mind-bending. It reminds me how easily life can change direction on us and how important it is to reach out to people who are hurting. Let’s all remember this every time a neighborly opportunity presents itself.
