I am feeling a bit uninspired so I’ll jump over to one of my favorite topics; Dude, what’s with the Pittsburgh Pirates? Can you believe they are in the home stretch of the season and still in the plus .500 column? Oh yeah! Or how about the fact that going into Labor Day weekend they are one game out of the wildcard hunt? I know, maybe I shouldn’t be too optimistic or I might jinx them. Still, wouldn’t a post-season be a wonderful treat?
The post-season for insurance is coming up on us fast as well. Summer, for the most part, is over or at least the kids are back in school. With September, we’ll be back at our desks and looking to pick up on some of the projects we let slide over the summer. We also just took on a new ‘power-hitter’ market for your high net worth personal lines clients. Everyone has one, two, or maybe more affluent clients. And yes, affluent clients come in all ‘shapes and sizes’. Sometimes it is the guy you knew growing up who built a business and made it big. Sometimes it is the CEO of a large commercial account you write. Any way you look at it, your affluent customer often has needs that the standard markets can’t meet. With specialty coverage, you are not selling insurance as much as you are selling value and incredible service.
