For the purpose of full disclosure – it is now Friday evening (and yes I do have better things to do), but I am taking the advice of my 7-year old nephew and sticking with my priorities and getting ‘one thing done at a time’ – a rule he follows when he is struggling with his homework – go figure.
So while the Super Bowl looms ahead of me, I know you won’t get this newsletter until Monday morning. Thus, I am literally Monday morning quarterbacking in reverse – or something like that. As I face the coming Super Bowl weekend festivities, I have to admit I feel a little disconnected from it all. In fact, I had an ‘ah-hah’ moment a few Sundays ago when the weather was particularly balmy. As I was working outside in my yard, the thought occurred to me “This is what the rest of the country does on Sunday afternoons in January when they don’t have a football team in the playoffs.” So like everyone else who is not connected to Baltimore or San Francisco, I am mostly looking forward to the Super Bowl TV ads – the best part of the game when your team is not on the field.
If you have been reading this newsletter for any length of time, you’ll soon start to realize that what I have to say is my own sort of homegrown wisdom. I have no standing in the big scheme of things but I do like to observe and comment on life, so I appreciate that you give me the 60 seconds it takes to read this letter. If I am lucky, we’ll have a sort of Super Bowl TV Ad experience; when there is a break in the action you'll get a little blip of information that is entertaining and memorable to brighten your day. And like the TV ads, some newsletters are great and others are so-so – such is life.
Things are off to a very busy start this year. We are wrapping up the backlog that naturally occurs when you go through an agency acquisition, such as we did when we bought Special Risk Solutions. The book of business is now integrated, and our newest employees are trained and raring to go. Your Tuscano underwriters are also revved up to work with you on that large or small multi-state or out-of-state risk. We are getting better all the time and we are adding market capabilities that I can’t wait to tell you about!
If you haven’t been paying attention for the last 3 months (almost as unfortunate as if you were to watch the Super Bowl on the DVR and fast-forwarded through the ads), we completed the acquisition of SRS on December 1, effectively expanding our writing territory from New Hampshire to Georgia, and then some. We are thrilled to have been on the road for a good portion of January meeting agents and participating in kick-off meetings. So while we are expanding, we are also going back to our roots – to make sure our customers know they can count on Tuscano, not only for great quotes, but also for our CAN Do It attitude.
Yikes, my sixty seconds are almost up and I haven’t gotten to the ad yet:
Run into any vacant property business lately? Bring it to Tuscano – we are fast, we have several great markets, and offer a slew of coverage options.
Now back to the ‘game’,
