My wife and I don’t always agree on everything, which I am guessing is typical for most couples. There is one very important thing that we did agree on, and that was to have only 2 children. Our philosophy was “Never let them out number you”.
Last week Teri went on a girl’s vacation and left Sam and I at home to fend for ourselves. I’m not kidding; even the dog was shipped off. While I am happy to do house chores, cook, and clean, I run away when it is time to help with homework. Unfortunately, there was no ducking that duty last week. Our Sam has a very low urgency drive when it comes to homework and that means if it is ever going to get done or turned it, it takes constant monitoring. We’ve tried everything from punishments to rewards, and nothing works that isn’t much more painful for me than it is for him. The bottom line is that after last week, I am so much more appreciative of the fantastic team of people who work for me and almost never have to be told how to do their work.
I want to thank you all for the business you have been sending our way. Tuscano just had our single largest premium month and our biggest premium growth month ever. Insurance markets are tightening, but I certainly would not call this a hard market - yet perhaps we are headed there. Regardless of the market, we could not have hit these milestones without your support, the trust of our carrier partners, and a whole lot of extra effort from all the employees at the Tuscano Agency. As for me, it’s a whole lot more fun to be a cheerleader than it is to be a ref!
So what is hot? Lately we have been quoting and writing Houses of Worship. Whether you have a storefront church or a more traditional structure for a non-traditional faith community, we have programs that will offer much needed coverage. We can do large values or small ‘start-ups’ who require little more than a certificate to give to the landlord. We can also help you with the professional liability for the pastor doing counseling and include sexual abuse coverage. Certainly we are no ‘Church Mutual’ and cannot compete against the standard carrier, but think of us for business that falls outside of the traditional guidelines.
Another class of business that we see a lot of is Tattoo Parlors. Again, this is one of those classes of business that typically falls outside the appetite of many standard carriers. We can help you with a broad range of risks and values. We can also do the professional coverage and turn the quotes around fast.
Of course since this is March, I need to make sure motorcycle insurance is on your radar. While motorcycles business has always been a core product of the Tuscano Agency, things are looking very good for this product line in 2013. Pricing is coming down and we are sure that Flo won’t be advertising our rates - but you can! Even though the snow is still falling in our region, spring is around the corner. Think of Tuscano for all of your motorcycle and recreational vehicles insurance needs.
Next month I hope to have some big announcements, so stay posted. We are going to take it up a notch – BAM!
